Carrie Morgridge – The Journey
Amen! – Was my reaction as I got notified of my acceptance to TEDxCherry Creek. I have such an admiration for the TEDx talks and how great ideas are worth spreading. I believe I have something to share, and shouting from the rooftop just won’t do it in the 21st century. Not only am I excited, but I am scared. Having presented a TEDx talk before, I understand what it is going to take to make my ideas sing, and let me tell you – it’s not easy. The best part of starting to prepare for this TEDx talk is I know I will be coached by world-class women, who will help me transition from one idea and thought to the next.
Our first session really helped me understand how to share out the knowledge that we have at the foundation. Going into this talk, I have an entirely new and heavily researched perspective about the Future of Giving. We knew that giving was going to change so we sought out an organization called sparks & honey to educate us on what we don’t know. We learned about the trends that were already changing giving, and that both Covid-19 and technology advances are accelerating the changes in giving even faster. The report they delivered to us is so rich with great information that needs to be shared out — and what better way than a TEDx talk.
There are so many important components to this report that whitling the information down to a single TEDx talk is my biggest challenge. With the help of my coaches, I’m learning how to put my thoughts and ideas in an order that will make the most sense.
Lastly, I am just so darn grateful and happy for this amazing opportunity, and I will work as hard as I can to make my coaches and family proud.
