My journey to Tedx Cherry Creek started through relationships. A long-time colleague, Christy Belz, is involved in the production of Tedx Cherry Creek. In addition, we both have pursued a relationship to an important idea…. leadership is personally showing up and spiritually based.
These relationships, both with a person and with an idea, have converged into participation in the Tedx Cherry Creek event.
The application process was easy and as someone who is entering what some might call the final stages of living (ie, retirement and aging), I saw Tedx as an opportunity to share my passions for the ideas of leadership and my commitment to women’s development and growth.
When I got accepted, I was both excited, grateful and nervous. All the doubts of, do I really have anything meaningful to say, were ever present. And even though I have taught and given talks many times, Tedx is a new level…. Yikes!
So far the journey has been delightful. It is fun to think about what you are passionate about and craft a meaningful message. Conversations, in the context of relationships, allow for showing up…. and I am both excited and nervous about “showing up” on the Tedx stage.
